Technology Resource Center
Nogales Community Development’s Technology Resource Center offers small businesses access to computers, printers, fax machine, copier and meeting space. This resource is available to any Santa Cruz County business from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
The Center is fully equipped with a 15-unit computer Lab, copy machine, fax, printers, telephone lines, and web camera to assist local businesses. Organizations can request to use the Center to host their own courses or programs that foster business development.

Maria Elena Mandel: Owner of Maria Elena's Creations
Maria Elena Mandel sews and sells simple, attractive handbags at the Nogales Mercado under the business name Maria Elena’s Creations. Sewing came late and unexpectedly to Maria Elena, following her son’s diagnosis in January, 2011, of a rare non-cancerous but chronic blood disorder related to leukemia. Caring for her son left her with little time to work outside of the home, and that’s when she started sewing. To get her business off the ground, she signed up for training at NCD’s Business Resource Center on “How to Sell at a Farmer’s Market.” Then she received an Individual Development Account that funded her canopy and table at the Nogales Mercado. Today, Maria Elena is a member of the Nogales Mercado Advisory Committee.
