Nogales Community Development offers a variety of business training courses designed to help individuals develop the capacity and expertise to meet the demands of a challenging environment. NCD staff is certified to teach NxLevel, a nationally recognized business curriculum that teaches the fundamentals of business management, business plan development, strategy and entrepreneurship.

Our organization also provides individuals financial capability workshops and business plan development training. The financial management workshops give individuals the ability to increase their knowledge on how to manage their personal finances, including bank accounts, investments, budgeting, and saving—traits that allow them to become competitive in the current job market.

Luis Carlos David: Acclaimed Documentary Film Maker

Luis Carlos Davis always wanted to be a filmmaker. He had his undergraduate degree and was working on his Master’s degree in Latin American studies with a focus on media arts and journalism from the University of Arizona when he enrolled in NCD's IDA program. He used his IDA savings to study film through the New York Film Academy in Oxford, England.

He completed his Master’s degree and in 2009 released his critically acclaimed documentary ‘389 Miles: Living the Border’. The film has been screened nationally and internationally and has won him accolades at several film festivals. In 2010, he was named Tucson’s 40 Under 40 Man of the Year.
